3 months until contract runs out, and I'm so conflicted!

Right now I am with AT&T, I have been using unlocked T-mobile/HTC phones on the network since April, except when I am tethering, then I use my trust Razr V3.xx. My and my wife's contracts end in March, she's going with Straight Talk, so no problem there.

My requisites are:

I really want to continue using a GSM phone.
No contract, so I am willing to purchase an unlocked smartphone
A decent priced data plan
Touch screen with accelerometer
access to usable apps
no restriction as to what I can put on my phone. (apps, ringtones, music, etc)

I have played with both the iPhone and the Mytouch and like them both, I have also considered getting an iPhone clone, but a near useless ipod touch clone has left me wary about that.

As to carriers, I only have access to AT&T and T-mobile, and T-mobile barely works in my area, and no 3G yet.

Anybody have any suggestions that might fit my needs/wants?

Thanks

Depends how much you want to spend and what features matter most to you.

If you're a music fan, then the best phone according to GSMarena's quality tests is the Nokia 5800. As it's a Symbian phone, there's loads of apps, it's touchscreen, has an accelerometer, is easily available SIM free and can be gotten with full support for AT&T 3G frequencies. The camera is decent and has a flash. It's also damn cheap as well!

If on the other hand your budget is a bit higher and you want a better camera, then perhaps the Sony Ericsson Satio would be what you're looking for. Again, all the benefits of Symbian but faster processor and more RAM makes it faster and it has the best camera out there. Then again, it will cost twice as much.
