My one hour test came back elevated (they wouldn't tell me the exact reading) and the Dr. wanted me to go in for the 3 hour test. I took the 1 hour at around 2pm and was not fasting. They made sure to tell me to go in the morning and not to eat after midnight. So, I went in around 8am and got my fasting blood work and urine. They had me drink 10oz. of the orange stuff. It doesn't taste all that bad, but I don't like real sweet drinks. I got it down and went out to wait for the first hour. About 45 minutes in, I started feeling really queasy and nauseous. I tried to keep it in, but I couldn't. I wound up vomiting in the trash can. They took me back and had me lie down for a little bit. They called my doc to let him know I was unable to complete the test because I had thrown up. She went ahead and sent off my fasting blood work for reading. Is there a chance the fasting blood work would be enough to satisfy the doc or will he want me to try the 3 hour again? I really don't want to do it again. My mom is a diabetic and she has been testing my blood sugar with her monitor and this morning before I ate, I was 96. She said that was good. I know my chances of getting GD are good since diabetes runs in my family and I'm overweight. But, I don't know if I could stand taking that test again.
