I was in a similar situation like you a few months ago. I had found an entire litter that was about 2 weeks old and bottle fed them with the kitten formula. The orange feces is normal because the kittens body had digested the formula that you had given it. As for the blood in the feces, that is sometimes normal as well. It is normal because the kitten could have not eaten for awhile and it wasn't used to going "potty." Remember though, after you feed it make sure you take a soft tissue or paper towel...or even old rag and make sure you stimulate it to make sure it does go to the bathroom.

I used baby wet wipes on my kittens after I fed them to stimulate them to go to the bathroom.

Good luck with your kitty. :D

A lady found a kitten in the wall of her barn that was only a day or two old. She shouldnt of removed the kitten to begin with- however she did and was dropping it off at petco, so i took the kitten since i succsessfully rescued a litter of young kittens before. They said they were feeding it Carnations milk, and feeding out of a dropper. I bought the canned kitten replacment milk and had a kitten bottle already to use. Day one he pooped regular colored fecies- its day two and i saw orange poop (mustard color) and a spot of blood- i seperated him immediantly from my two cats and disenfected everything. Im wondering if the new formula could cause this or if it sounds more serious? Thanks for the help (spay and neuter your pets and we wouldnt have these problems BTW)
It also isnt sucking the bottle willingly- i have been putting one drop in his mouth at a time to get him to eat at all- i dont think he likes the nipple on the bottle- because he then tries to suck on my fingers

It's probably just a reaction to the change from Carnation to Kitten Replacement Milk. If he continues to have blood in his poop, after a couple of days, take him to the vet for a checkup. Kittens on KMR usually have yellow/orange poop.......

Since you don't know the health of the mom, and you have other cats in your home, you should consider taking him in for a checkup ASAP. The vet can do a fecal, to check for worms and/or parasites, and treat him accordingly.

Hope everything works out for you and your "new baby"........ENJOY......
