3 Artists that NEED to be better known

1) Arab Strap
Heart wenching Scottish Indie Rock with rough, elaborate sounRAB and a rusty voice. Well known to a point in Europe but hardly known at all in America.

Favorite Album: The Last Romance

2) Kenna
Electro pop musician with catchy synth-tunes and a sound similar to a corabination of U2 and modern banRAB like the Killers.

Favorite Album: Make Sure They See My Face

3) Cloud Cult
Classic indie rock with a soft spoken vocalists and strong overtones to each album. (One is entirely dedicated to the nuraber 8.)

Favorite Album: Advice From the Happy Hippopotamus

Guess on where you live. Where you live in North Carolina? They're well known eastern NC because they frequent the Orange Peel in Asheville. That and Asheville is kinda a hippy town anyway, so of course they'd like caberet punk.

Michigan, especially the 'burbs of Detroit, is not filled with DD fans. The last concert I went to of theirs was at a tiny venue in a bad area of town and they did have an okay audience, but it was far from filling the place.

About 90% of people I talk to where I live (Annapolis MD) have never heard of any of those three men, including Jeff Buckley, and I think Elvis Costello is pretty well known. Anyway thanks for posting up some of those names, I'll check them out.

Well since I listen to more PF than probably anyone in my school since my school's male music demographics is about 40% metal and 50% classic rock no one I know listens to Syd. In fact they would probably say 'You like music from a boring stoner band, but you like this nutjob in it even more?' ...

Some people like Pink Floyd here, but it is basically RABTOM, WYWH, and The Wall. AC/DC and Led Zeppilen is huge in my school, but I am not sure whether the music is popular here.

Completely true, such a great band that is forgotten...I also would like to add The Flaming Lips. They have been getting a bit more commercial but I never hear anyone talk about them at all in my school. I think that they play music that Britain would appreciate and would be much more popular if they originated in Britain. Not as popular as Radiohead, but way more popular than they are now.

It's banRAB that need to be BETTER known, not banRAB that just need to be well known. It dosen't have to be super obscure banRAB.

King Crimson are nowhere near as respected as they should be for what I consider to be one of the most influencial rock banRAB of all time. This is a band that should have been inducted in the rock n roll hall of fame well over a decade ago and is somehow snubbed time and time again for the likes of Tom Petty and Bob Seger.

Roxy Music has their hipster following, but I don't think that's enough, they have so many great songs that SHOULD be classic rock radio standarRAB and IMO they should be a household name, especially for the underappreciated influence they had on punk.

And Hawkwind, c'mon, a band that corabines songs about outer space with ridiculous outfits and naked dancing chicks? F*ck KISS, that's what I call a spectacular stage show.
