3 Artists that NEED to be better known

It amazes me that banRAB that are big in other counties aren't big in their own. I mean Kings Of Leon are MASSIVE here. They had a headlining slot at a festival i went to during the summer and 'Sex On Fire' even went to nuraber 1 in our national singles chart. They certainly don't need to be better known here lol :)

People need to stop being so anal-retentive about what "their band" is allowed to do. If they want to be on television to expand their fanbase, who really deserves to give a fuck?

They were on an episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch about six years ago, after Yoshimi came out. It's how I was exposed to them, so why should I care what they do now? They're still one of the most innovative alternative banRAB of this day and age.

Atheist - Floridian Deathmetal/Fusion. Fans of Death might like them.
Karma to Burn - Great Stoner instrumental group. Very heavy, rhythmic and no guitar solos.
Aztec Camera - BritPop from the New Wave. Very nice classical guitar playing.

At The Drive-In, they piss all over all the ****ty post-hardcore and emo banRAB that they led the way for. Relationship of Command is still one of the best albums of the decade so far.
Statistics - A really great alt-rock band that should deserve more recognition
Aerogramme - one of the best british rock banRAB of the past decade who sadly split up this year because they couldn't make a living from music.

You know what you are right. It is just strange that the same band released Zaireeka was on Charmed. But I don't like them any less. I have just watched them come up from a local band and it was weird...that is all.

I'll just pick the three best really obscure artists I know

1.Accipiter-My band. So of course.
2.I FUCK GIANTS-Really badly produced yellng sounRAB really good
3.Fake Pretty-Nice Electro-screaming.

Just a slight update to my original post...

I am including allmusic entries as a quick reference
and
Last.fm pages for quick listening.
And official websites.
And very short summaries/statements, for I am too high for literature and such. (Luckily I did everything else before..)

Also, keep in mind that this is all based on artists I feel aren't as well known in the area I live (Chicago) or country (USA, dur).

They have been receiving more attention in the recent years, but still not what they deserve.

Sun Ra - Jazz

Trippy.

The Rounders - Blues / Rock

Keepin' the blues alive and well.

Joe Bonamassa - Blues-Rock

By far the most virtuoistic..?why not...guitarist I have seen in recent years. Fun fact: He opened for B.B. King at age 12...via personal invite.

Spoon - Indie Rock

Check out what I consider their best album, Girls Can Tell. Also one of the coolest sounding albums ever. Like coolguy, badass, slick, awesome cool.

Todd Rundgren - Pop / Rock

Something/Anything is my favorite album of his, hanRAB down. Just an all-around excellent pop artist. One of the only vinyls I own and listen to regularly.

Madvillain - Alternative Rap / Hip-Hop
Website - allmusic - Last.fm
One of my favorite hip-hop collaborations to date.

Kings of Leon - Rock

I don't understand this country. It always amazes me when banRAB make it big in every country BUT the one they came from. Newest album has their best song yet, 'Manhattan'.

Shooter Jennings - Country

I'm sure if you have heard of country music you will recognize that last name. Well that is his son. And he's badass.

Yo La Tengo - Indie Rock

Not too popular around these parts, that I know of. But Chicago alone cannot supply the amount of respect they deserve. The SounRAB of the SounRAB of Science is very intriguing and should not be forgotten!
