My GF has the Evo 4G and I find it a bit large for my tastes... I personally love the size of my N1. Which is exactly why I'm going to the Desire when it comes out. I needed better carrier service than T-Mobile has to offer in this area... Now if the Desire had a front facing camera and a kick stand, it would be perfect imho.

after you get a big screen, i don't think it's possible to go smaller. i always though the 4.3" of the hd2 was huge, but then i had to type something on my brother's iphone, and it felt so weird. i've gotten used to 4.3", but i agree that 4" is probably the sweet spot. holding the hd2 to my ear is kinda awkward, but i can't imagine typing on my g1's 3.2" virtual keyboard anymore.

True... I owned the HD2 for about 2 weeks...hated Windows and sent it back. Definitely a blue tooth only phone imo..

what's the htc aria have? 3.2"? in all honesty, the way that little phone feels is actually really nice and if you can get used to tilting your phone constantly to type in landscape mode, it's fine
