most of the murders that happen in these cities are gang violence. the laws aren't written in an attempt to get guns off the streets, they are used to increase the penalties for gang members. to keep them in jail longer, and that's exactly how it's used.
 
Why punish law abiding citizens? If I lived in DC I would have a handgun for my own protection, legal or not.

Do you think this will stop gangs from having guns?

i'd own a handgun myself if i wasn't so damn lazy. but that's not what these laws do. they ban the guns that the cops see most often on the streets. this is how municipalities get tough on crime. they pass harsher punishment laws, rarely do they ever upgrade police departments or expand police power.

Read the ban, read the new restrictions and then open your mouth.
Pistols and semi auto shotguns still fall under their new restrictions.
