Both films are very enjoyable but i would probably say 28 Weeks Later
just edges it for me just for the fact it's got Robert Carlyle in it and has abit more action through it. That said i would have prefered it to have Danny Boyle direct it cause i like most of his stuff but Juan Carlos Fresnadillo did a good job of it.
I really like the music i think it's brilliant. The scene where the infected break into the room and and the music starts just as Don legs it is genious totaly adRAB to an already great scene. Dont recall much of the music from 28 Days Later but im sure that'll soon change after i got the 28 Days/Weeks later boxset for a quid *Kaching!!*
Yeah i can sort of understand what they were trying to achieve and it all worked out rather well but after how good the opening scene was i would have quite liked to have seen abit more before he he got infected.
Im looking forward to the *fingers crossed* next movie to see what happens and what exactly the timeline between the movies is eg will it be 28 Months Later or will it carry on from where the last one left off and just be 28 Days Later again. Either way it'll be strange having it elsewhere after getting used to it after seeing England empty bar the infected in the last two movies.
It's hit or miss really after soo long a time passing since the Americans claimed "victory" over the virus would they really have bunkers ready just incase? There's also the question of did Andy (the boy) infect anyone? He was infected and if i remember correctly he was bleeding so it's possible he infected someone and it's spread quicker than expected. In any case it should be another great installment to an already great franchise
I think the case with Don being slightly diffrent from the rest of the infected was to due with how they focused on him in particular. Generaly the infected aint supposed to attack the already infected yet Don attacks his wife Alice after we see him having a flashback/memory of her, i think they say he did this (notably guaging her eyes) because he was soo ashamed that he left her behind so it's essentailly adding another dimension to the infected saying they can remember but other than that they posess very little if any human features, ofcourse i could be wrong.
I noticed this aswell but due to the fact it cut to him killing people right after it was left unexplained how he got out. He wouldnt have been able to get out himself unless the dorr had not shut properly or there was another exit as he was infected. Alternativley a soldier could have seen Alices body and the blood all over the place and opened the door in which case Don would have been able to kill him and escape, it would also explain how it cut to the camera following him bitting people near enough right after he killed Alice.
I found the bit where Andy sees Don but then dissapears a little odd cause more than likley he would have attacked them all but it didnt really bother me all that much, more than likley it was just being used to build up the tension. The bit on the other hand where Don finRAB Andy in the underground i can get though cause you see Don along with a load of other infected run down there ages before the kiRAB and Sally (think that's her name) go down.
