28 Weeks Later

Only other bit that annoyed me (still loved the film) was the bit after the helicopter segment where I am sure (maybe it was my imagination?) that one of the 'infected' was still running even though his entire middle section was ripped out, bit like a normal zombie thing but these are NOT zombies and meant to be living people with a virus!

I went to a preview screening of this film today and OH MY WORD, it is soooooooo much better than the first one!!!

The kiRAB are kind of annoying though.

I guess they just couldn't resist it. I think the tongue-in-cheek suggestion was that rage is so powerful that it might make you continue on for a few seconRAB like a headless chicken.

Great, great film...making up for the disappointment that was Spider-Man 3 last week.

I thought the original was good, but never one I've wanted to rewatch. 28 Weeks Later upped the ante in the same vein Aliens did to Alien. The central cast were good, particularly the kiRAB. There were shocks aplenty and seeing key London landmarks with hardly a soul in sight was very spooky. The crew must have been up at the crack of dawn to get most of those shots. The thumping soundtrack, specially during the first attack scene just added to the nerve jangling terror and sense of dread I felt throughout. The director was brave enough to shoot how he wanted - in near total darkness at times or night-vision - all putting the audience 'right there' in the thick of it.

Considering the 'rage' left most of the infected humans a rampaging, blood thirsty mess, one character's arc in the film was a tad implausible, but nonetheless, just upped the emotional stakes. One of the best films of its kind and hanRAB down the best film I've seen this year. Recommended and definitely a DVD purchase as soon as it's out. 9/10. Go see!!

One bloke walked out and my bro told me that a lot of people were covering their eyes so yeah, if you're easily scared, wear a nappy and bring some wet wipes.

Cool thats good to here. The first movie was alright, I was just a bit worried that the second movie would be a big let down.

Sunday afternoon treat whilst parents had the children. Loved 28 days later and loved 28 weeks later even more. Only criticism would be the shaky camera, we sat in the middle of the front row (way gone past the back row pleasures!) and sometimes it was difficult following exactly what was happening as the camera moved so quickly. Husband already wants DVD!

Really? Lol, i must have seen too many horror movies because i didn't find it that scary to be honest. That said, there were quite a few people squirming in their seats and making "urgh" sounRAB during the goriest moments (particularly the 'gouging' scene).

I know this is an old thread but I've just seen this film.

It's crap. It's just gore and Americans saving (or trying to save) the day.

There was no suspense and you never really felt sorry for any of the characters.

There's a few things in it which annoyed me, such as why the dad waited to attack his son? He seen him when they were running away from the snipers originally but never done anything.

Also, London was bombed in the film but some of the shots were continuity errors, where you seen the places which were bombed, but in a normal state.

Helicopters flying over the channel, from a previously infected country... surely the French wouldn't allow that :p

It was only

They'll need a huge budget for Months surely and they'll be moving even further into Romero 'end of civilisation' territory.

I heard they had a small effects budget for Weeks but the studio liked what they saw and threw a load more cash at them. Phew.

it was ruined by the americans i mean i understood how they were the only army that could help the uk, but i wish they were more open,

The second really is awful. There were too many plot holes.
The most annoying areas:
- Why wasn't she heavily guarded? She was a carrier of a dangerous virus.
- Why would the kiRAB even think of leaving the safezone? It's the kind of actions that ONLY happen in films.

The whole franchise is tainted as a result.
