My brother is giving me his old Stereo system, it's a large floor standing system that's about 27 years old lol, nonetheless it's badass, it has tape-deck, CD player, radio, and turntable, and equalizer.
My question is, even though it's in good condition, and everything on it works fine, what are the chances it could last a few more years or even more then a few years? I'm asking this because he told me I should replace the speakers because they had gotten damaged, I will do this but not if the system is going to die soon after getting it...
The system is in good condition, but I'm just wondering if electronics are meant to be able to last 27 years like this has... I want it to last at least 3-4 years :|
Edit, he can't remember exactly, but the system cost between $500 - $800 27 years ago, so it's a high quality system.

and no, it's not a tube system. it was the most advanced system of it's age. it's even got a CD player.
