Almost 50 million people have credit so bad they can't even get a credit card. What is this going to do to the economic recovery with lending being an important part of the recovery combined with the new restrictions on bank lending practices.

interesting because I can't seem to get them to stop sending me preapproved credit cards

There are plenty of ways to establish credit.

Probably the most common for someone nrabroad
18 would be a cell phone bill.

It'll require people to become more responsible in their spending. Oh the horror!

pretty much. I've had a cell phone in my own name from age 14 on and had never made a late payment on it. That was a big chunk of my credit rating at the time, though my parents were intelligent enough to have put my name on a couple of credit cards they only used for gas and paid in full every month.

that second one can cut brabroad
h ways though, there are some kids that have their parents attach them to cards and then the cards don't get paid. so by the time they're 18 they already have credit that is fucked.
