25/9 gear ratio on a bmx bike?

i am getting a 25/9 gear ratio set up on my bmx bike and i can only buy one at a time and was wondering if either of the sprockets could be used with a different tooth set up. for example 25/14 or 39/9. something like that or do i have to have the set up at 25/9?
any info will help thanks
