Evening all

Want to buy the ex a box set or two of 24 for Christmas from his daughter. Having paid scant attention to it over the years, I was wondering which season to buy him. He's seen the last couple of seasons in full, so I wasn't going to bother with those. So which was the best of the rest?

Series 5. The first one with Logan, or Series 1.

I would personally not go for Series 3 or Series 4.

why not get him season 1 then he can buy them all?? if not then season 1 is the best anyway, or season 5.

Well, I recommend getting them from the start, but, IMO - I rank them...

1. Season 5
2. Season 8
3. Season 2
4. Season 3
5. Season 7
6. Season 1

Avoid Season 4 and 6.

There is an on-going story and characters, albeit slight, but enough to mean that later seasons are spoilers for twists in earlier ones. Season 5 in particular relies heavily on characters developed in earlier series for its effect. So it is best to start with season 1 and 2.

The first half of season 1 is also the best, although it may lose some impact if you've seen later seasons.

Right, see I was worried if I got the first season that would be the case. But if it's good anyway I might go with 1. Maybe 5 as well then?
