im a 24 year old female, ive had acne since i was 14. i took diantte when i was 18 for 3 years and my cane completly went but i started to get brown patches on my skin from being on dianette and going out in the sun. so i came off of it.and my spots came back instantly.

sometimes i have these massive hard lumps that never come to a head, which i find so erabrassing to walk around at work with.

im thinking of buying proactiv system off of ****, but before i do have any of you tried it and is it worth the money?

Please help. this is ruining my socail life.

HI
im 20 and i have been using proactiv for awhile. im pretty bad at doing it all the time the way they want to which is maybe why i havnt found it works 100%. It does work alright though...
I was on trycycln before (sp?) and i am finding that the proactiv is working about the same as that was. it come and goes but yea.. i would try it
i know many people who have had success

I used proactiv for about 2 1/2 years and it worked well if you used it properly (i.e. everyday, full regimen) I stopped because I was tired of all my towels, sheets and pjs getting bleached. I guess it happens often with stuff that has benzoyl peroxide. Not bad if you want OTC stuff and it smells good. :)

hey, i've tried pro-active, and it didnt do anything accept make my breakouts 10x worse and irritate the !@#$ out of my skin. Although, i've heard it works o.k. for others, i've never heard of it being a total cure. I dont know about you guys, but i dont think any topical treatment will ever fully cure your acne. I started accutane 6 months ago, and i owe my life to it. literally. Its a miracle solution for bad acne. Although, with all of its known side effects, i would try other products first. Goodluck w/ whatever u try!

I used Proactiv and found it to be effective for a while, but very irritating. You don't need that much BP. A BP wash and a BP topical can be so horrible for your skin. It's stick with a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil, OTC BP like Neutrogena On The Spot, and a moisturizer.

If all else fails, get to a derm or your family doctor and get an RX for your skin.

My acne used to be very bad as well. I tried ProActive and like others who stated before me, it worked very well. I got tired of using it though and didn't feel like spending the money to continuously buy it. One thing I can recommend is the pill Accutane. It's not for everyone, and there are some harmful side effects that NOT EVERYONE experiences. The most I experienced was dry lips...and hey, some dry lips weren't going to stop me. I kept with the pill and to this day I only get the normal pimple once and a while. I did have to go once a month for blood work though. Please see a dermatologist and ask him/her about Accutane. Do some research on the net and see what you think. I defintely say try it out! :)

I personally think proactive is a waste of money. I tried it 3 different times with no result. I just made my skin work and even the dermatologist told me never to use it again.

Dont buy it. Just dries out your skin. Been there done that and dont feel so bad. Try being 26 going on 27 with Rosacea, some acne and some sort of skin "irriation" (thats what the doc. said it was) on your forehead that wont go away itches and burns and looks like a its covered with small clustered pustules bunched together as a dark patch. Dont feel bad.
