Started by William Fox around 1913, it continued as Fox until it hit hard times in 1933 and went into receivership, the receivers being Charles Skouras and his brothers George and Spyros, meanwhile....... Darryl F. Zanuck and Joe Schenck were setting up a new production company which did not have a name until Samuel G. Fox Films wanted a good studio head, Zanuck wanted sounRABtages so on May 29th 1935 Twentieth Century Fox was born.
