2012 - The Movie - end of the world

They've made a movie about the "end of the world" apparently releasing later this year. This is just a short trailer right now but I'm pretty sure the content can be guessed from that. Obviously it stems from the stories that the world will end in 2012 (the 21st of December to be exact) because of numerous reasons including ancient calenders ending on that date and the positioning of planets blah blah blah. It actually ties with with the Christian Judgement day (because of some passage in the Bible) as well as the Islamic (the Koran states that the end of the world will be on a Friday and the 21st is on a Friday).

Personally I think it's all scare-mongering but the film looks kind of cool :D

Anyway, I love a good 'end of the world' film, so here's hoping for mucho death and destruction. Oh and with regarRAB to the trailer. I think I could see Laird Hamilton surfing that wave.
 
is it just me or most movies about the end of the world, or things that could lead to events like that, are just get handed to Roland Emmerich, lol.:)

I suspect there will also follow a couple of cheap knock-off movies based on the same subject as well.

There were a spate of Y2K movies around 1997 - 99...not that you would have heard of any of them...
