It would be cleverer to name a catastrophe-film by a year which isn't just around the corner. You could make more money out of the film if it were named, for example, 2080 instead of 2012. In four years time the film 2012 will be a bit boring to watch.

Saw a five minute clip of this and it looks to be typical Roland Emmerich fare, lots of eye candy and zero involvement in plot or characters. I mean you'd think seeing California disintergrating and falling into the sea would evoke a certain amount of dread but really it felt like no more than a pc game. Give me apocalypse with fear I say.

I like a good disaster movie as much as the next man, but Emmerich's track record (Independence Day, Day After Tomorrow) strongly suggests this won't be one.

Really looking forward to this, watched the 6 minute teaser the other day. I will be really disappointed if anyone survives or if life is preserved somehow in this movie as it is supposed to be an "end of the world" story not a way of avoiding the end of the world events.

Yeah like the world is really going to end in 2012. My phone calender enRAB on 2099 so that must be when we all go (though I'll be dead I won't care) Also there's no scientific evidence that there's anything wrong with the planet in the next 2 or so years. Is there?
