2012 Code Lyoko: Evolution

Well it's been awhile since I've seen the end of the series but wasn't everything pretty much wrapped up at the end. But I did love the first series so I'm not opposed to a sequel.

Hard to believe it'll be nearly eight years old by then. I still remember tuning in to the first episode on a whim and wondering what exactly I was watching. Never saw the final episodes of season 4, though.:(

I wonder what they'll do to keep it fresh? Add more characters? More powers? I wonder who the villain will be?

Hmm...I don;t see a halo above my head so I haven;t died and gone to heaven...and I don;t feel hazy so I;m nt dreaming...So I guess this is real then?

YEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!! I;m totally up for more Code Lyoko. It;s true that the XANA thing was pretty much settled, but I do think more can be done with the main cast. Especially since some of the parings were left ambiguous...

I do hope it comes to CN in the US again, but they have me a bit worried about stuff they haven;t made themselves these days...

I've heard about this sequel series for Code Lyoko for quite some time, but there hasn't been a lot of concrete information about it. Or at least I haven't heard about anything official until seeing that link. While I haven't seen all of season four, I know that the group does defeat XANA, so I'm surprised that they seem to have the same characters returning. I thought that they'd focus on a new group of characters dealing with a new enemy. I wasn't really into Code Lyoko myself, but I thought it was kind of fun and I wouldn't be against seeing a new series at all. It might be interesting to see what they have planned for it and their characters.

Wow I haven't seen this show in while! But I think it's great that it's getting a sequel series, but the only problem is that which channel is going to pick this up? Considering CN's current's state I highly doubt they would bother to pick this show up again.

Cartoon Network still has the rights to air the show. As far as I know, the rights have not expired since I first learned this from a telephone conversation with a public relations person. Although Code Lyoko has given Cartoon Network excellent ratings in the past, I do agree with you in that they seem unlikely to show it at the moment.

(Be careful about what you say on the Internet. Whether or not my forehead is quite as large as theirs, I consider myself to have a large forehead, and I would take offense to such negative-criticism comments even if I did not have one. Besides, the foreheads are more notable in stills; you would probably barely notice them unless you were focusing on them specifically if you saw the characters in action.)
(If I possessed something more relevant to the topic to say, I would, but try as I might I cannot make the addition. My compulsions commanded me to post, metaphorically speaking.)

I actually have a somewhat large forehead myself, for what it's worth. So, yeah. I'd be fairly surprised if any real person had a forehead as large as those character designs though.

I loved Code Lyoko, so a sequel series would sit all right with me.

Here's my prediction for the plot:

At the end of season four, Jeremy's multi-agent system used to destroy Xana only stopped him temporarily. XANA will come back and the group will have to turn Lyoko back on to finish him. The only way to defeat XANA permanantly would be to destroy his core, located in the Volcano Replica, an exclusive sector only seen in the video games, but I'd like to see here.

They could also introduce the monsters in the video games to the series to keep it fresh. It'd also be cool if Franz Hopper would appear again, even though he sacrificed himself.

Let's hope they can re-hire all of the original voice actors for the English Dub. From what I can remember, the dub was very good, even though it had very few actors in it, meaning that the main cast would also play a ton of minor roles as well.

I'd also like to hope for a DVD release of Season's 2-4 of the original series.

I think the problem is that the French version explains the premise in a rather abstract way. It mentions the virtual world, and refers to it as merely a means to an end to protect the real world. The English one refers to Xana by name, refers to the heroes protecting the world from evil at every turn, and generally sounds awkward on account of being an English version that makes no modifications to the melody to sound more natural.

Unfortunately, it appears you have heard the terrible, unofficial Corey Maddox version of the English Code Lyoko theme song, which does not rhyme, does not account for melody, and mentions XANA by name.

The real (TV theme; not full) song lyrics are here.
Here we are, going far
To save all that we love
If we give what we've got
We'll make it through
Here we are, like a star
Shining bright on your world
Today
Make evil go away
Code Lyoko
We'll reset it all
Code Lyoko
Be there when you call
Code Lyoko
We will stand real tall
Code Lyoko
Stronger after all
As you can see, the English version is abstract too. XANA is only referenced, if you can count that as a reference at all, as the "evil" in "make evil go away."
