2011 HD nice bike butt ugly colors!!!

Very true!

Actually, you'd have had a hard time finding a 2009 Ultra Limited because they weren't offered until 2010!

Having said that, I agree with you, the 2010/2011 color choices seem more limited for some reason. You and I do seem to agree on the best color choice on the 2009 models as evidenced by our signature pics!

Sure got a lot of compliments on my 2011 sedona orange street glide last night at bike night in nc. Had a vivid black 09 street glide with painted inner faring and custom chrome wheels etc etc and everything I could put on it to make it different But no success. Vivid black bikes are like assholes where I live. Atleast hd will only make my color for 2 years and hopefully it won't be seen on every corner in North America. Color choices this year are fewer but I for one like several, especially the root beer two tone and the merlot, blue this year is nicer in person than the web looks imo. Don't like the colors, wait til next year, I'm sure vivid black will be back.

Well butter my butt and call me a plum dipped in tar ---- purple/black street glide purchased 2 weeks ago and cant get off w/o compliments. Goes well wih the concord purple 2000 wide glide. ---- had to get a custom color --- nice to see something other than black -- when I get off my black ultra and go inside an establishment I have to sit on 5 when I leave to figure out which ones mine !!

I don't like all the colors either, but others will. I was looking forward to seeing the white. I didn't like it in person. And that new blue didn't look good on their website. But in person I liked it. The orange is cool too.

I'm talking about color choices on 2010/ 2011s RKCs, RGs, etc., not Screamin' Eagle Ultra or something.

RKCs need two-tone color schemes IMO usually (not talkin' purple or green).

Saw Sedona Orange RG today. Yeah, it's pretty. I agree Cool Blue would look sweet on a RG with no further necessary accents (I would embellish with gray or black, you know, Tar Heel style?) For me, a 2010 RG would be Scarlet Red, a 2011, Denim Black. But a Cool Blue RKC with no accents? Uh-uh. Me no buy. You see, the stock Harleys that I'm used to seeing over the years had some sweet paint jobs. All of 'em. Am I talking about the quality of paint? No. But it seems that Harley is afraid to go out on a limb stylistically for some of their biggest sellers (Sedona Orange notwithstanding.) I'm not in marketing...what do I know? Maybe there's greater risk right now by not appealing to the broadest coalition of interests, but bland color choices won't fatten profit margins for dealers if we moths aren't drawn to the proverbial flame.

Thus I play with the colors on the new bikes on the computer (C'mon Harley, gimme a job designing colors for new bikes!) Pictures of bikes in killer colors and combos will definitely stir up more interest in the next few years. Yeah, I know, who couldn't go on the computer and screw around with the color schemes? That's the point. If some schmuck like me can do it, so can you, Harley Davidson. I guess it all boils down to marketing.

For example, anybody with a 2010 RG like the 2-1 exhaust that came stock with the bike? The dealer today told it me that it was a sweet piece (as far as stock exhausts go), but customers complained because they wanted two pipes exiting for a balanced look, so they're back to 2-1-2 for 2011. Complain and get results, right?

Anyway, here's more of what I'm talkin' about in the way of embellishing on Harley's paint schemes (or lack thereof.)

I've been a Vivid Black lover since the 70's!!
Kinda like the 'new' Marlot Sunglo now though.
Ya'll just remember, for every ten riders who dislike a color there's one who loves it...that's the one rider H-D is looking for!!

What's not to like about the black and sliver ultra? It's a manly bike if I ever saw one!
