One Step Ahead

I bought a 2010 Camry and I am having a hard time getting the stations to come in without static. When I play my cd's the sound is great, but the radio stations some are clear and the majority has seem type of static.
I called Toyota and they said to bring the car in, but most likely it is my area. I drove two miles away from my home and the same problem.
Has anyone else had this same problem-I would like to know before I take the car back to Toyota?
