2010 Oscars (March 7th): Who Do You Think Will Take Home The Gold?

I thought it was funny that Twilight was considered Horror as well. But hey I guess it is Sci-Fi/Thriller. Kinda.

I agree with this!
And the paranormal bit was hilarious, especially Martin hitting Baldiwn. :lmao:

I think I enjoyed last years more because of Hugh Jackman's opening ceremony.

I'm team Basterd. I hope Waltz, Quentin and the movie itself walk away the big winners on March 7th. I'm glad Up and District 9 slipped in there too. Would be happy if either one of those films win.

I'm rooting for Jeff and Sandra for Best Actor and Best Actress. Not a fan of Mo'Nique but I think she deserves to win for Supporting Actress.

Was hoping I See You would be nominated- wanted to see Leona perform. But still happy Avatar did get love.

Also happy for Sandra, Meryl and Collin-love all 3 :)

I loved the soundtrack dancing. Hee. I didn't see any of the movies save for Avatar (didn't like it much; the 3D was beautiful) so I wasn't pulling for anyone in particular.

I love Sandra Bullock to death, but I never thought she'd win an Oscar. What a world.

The Hurt Locker won. It won big. Congrats to the crew and their fans.

I like that they inclide the younget generation to the show too. I may not always like who they choose - in my case its Miley Cyrus for example, but Kristen Stewart is more worthy to walk that stage then some of the people going back for years - like eg Cameron Diaz or SJP. but that is just a personal opinion. as I said, I like that there are fresh new faces alongside the old bards :D

as for the show itself, I agree. it was SO boring  the opening number with NPH would have been awesome if I actually heard him sing. and the Alec/Steve stint at the beginning was funny but loooooong. the overall pace of the show was just so off. it dragged and dragged and then they announced the two biggest cathegories in about 7 seconds? WTF

also In Memoriam montage with live music is a terrible idea. it sucked last year and it sucked this year too. and the dancing instead of introducing the nominated songs? I fastforwarded that one. I dont mind dancing but who really wants to watch dull dancing - no matter how artsy, after watching an overall dull show for 2 hours already?

the best parts for me were RDJ & Tina Fey, Ben Stiller and the acceptance speech of Micheal Giacchino. oh, and hearing Colin Farrell praise Jeremy Renner in his sexi Irish accent :D

Omgosh the dancing to the soundtrack was just... Thats one of the things I liked about last years awards. They kept the soundtrack...a soundtrack by just having the orchestra play it.

And George Clooney looks pissed/annoyed. There's just something that has him ticked. Or maybe he's just bored.

That was one moment I missed, or rather I was paying attention to the computer more than the TV at that point. I've been looking for a clip of it on and off for the last hour.

So far these awards are not only boring, but they don't even have anything cringe inducing awful for people to remember. Although that dance thing was close.

I enjoyed last year's show much better-only really enjoyed the opening, Tina Fey and Rober Downey Jr. presenting and Ben Stiller dressed as a Navi(lol). Show really seemed to drag this year. Happy for Sandra; loved her speech :)

Also I didn't see The Hurt Locker and I doubt that I will(subject manner seems to heavy for me), but still happy for Kathryn as well

I'm pulling for The Hurt Locker. It was the far superior to Avatar. I mean think about this...Avatar wasn't nominated for screenplay. Why is that? Because it was an old recycled story! There was nothing special about Avatar aside from the visuals. The story just wasn't there in my opinion.

^They were funny

I just think that last year's oscars were much better. everything flowed much more smoothly. And did anyone see that red head lady Kanye Westing that guy who won for short film!?

^ OMG Twilight, really?? :rotfl: :lmao::lmao::lmao: I didn't see that part of the ceremony, as soon as I saw Taylor and Kristen presenting I went somewhere else for awhile and just got back to watching again later, I cannot stand Twilight stuff  :lmao:

The nominations look great! Glad Avatar got recognized with its various nominations. And District 9 - what a wonderful surprise!!

I hope Mo and Sandra win in their categories.

I'm rooting for Avatar and/or District 9 for best picture. The best picture category is wide open though. With 10 nominations instead of 5, voting could get really interesting. I think there's a good chance for an upset in this category or a tie.

I thought the horror montage was something they could have left out. And Im a huge horror fan. Or atleast they could've done it differently. It felt like it was shoved in there..and with the young, hip New Moon cast introducing the clip it was an obvious pandering to youngerish viewers. And a BIG WTF moment was seeing a clip of New Moon in that montage. Give me a freakin break :lmao: Twilight is horror? That was perhaps the most unintentional hilarious moment of the night

So happy for Hurt Locker great movie well deserved for all the Oscars. It did shock me getting best picture .

Whomever put otgether the montage of those who we have lost forgot farrah fawcett, how in hell can you forget her and put in actors.acresses from the 40=50's ... ?
here is clip article explaining the how the Oscar bosses defended the error

Alec & Steve had some really funny scenes/lines, but overall it wasn't quite as hilarious & exciting as I would've hoped (that's how I feel about the telecast in general). Of course I'm disappointed that Sandra won for a role that wasn't that great in a movie that was so-so -- but she's impossible to dislike. And I couldn't help but feel happy for her. There weren't really any upsets, except for maybe Geoffrey Fletcher for the Precious script (kinda happy though because he's from my area!).

i was happy with Sandra's win (although i wanted Sandra, Meryl or Gabby to win so i guess there wasn't a way i could be disappointed in that category lol)

So happy that Mo'Nique won. Although i find it funny that now she's an Oscar winner that hosts a talk show on a joke of a channel like BET lol

So happy that Up won for Animated (I would've been happy with Coraline too). Although i'm still sad that Ponyo got shafted from the category because I considered that the best Animated film last year

I was so glad to see The Cove win. I had such a hard time watching that documentary; it affected me so much

i like that we finally managed to get a female to win Best Director. But i didn't like The Hurt Locker winning Best Picture. I thought there was nothing special about the movie.

i loved that they put a horror tribute montage together.

Just like i expected, i didn't like not seeing the nominated songs performed.

As for the hosting, I LOVED the Paranormal Activity skit but i felt like most of the jokes at the beginning of the show would have came across better as a monologue rather than Alec and Steve going back and forth
