2010 Oscars (March 7th): Who Do You Think Will Take Home The Gold?

I thought the Oscars were pretty predictable in terms of Sandra, Jeff, Monique, and Christoph winning. They were winning in the earlier award shows, so I wasn't surprised when they won the Oscars.

I was really surprised with The Hurt Locker though. WOW. I haven't seen it yet, but I was really happy and rooting for it throughout the ceremony. Maybe because Kathryn Bigelow's now the first woman to win Best Director and Best Picture. :yay: I've also heard good things about the movie, so I was happy. :D

I LOVE Sandra Bullock so I am glad she won. I liked her performance and I have always thought she was a great actress. However I do agree this performance wasn't Academy Award winning. But it couldn't happen for a better person.

I knew all the winners were going to win. Everyone who wins the Golden Globes and SAGS will the Oscars. No surprises.

My should/will wins for the main categories:

Best Picture
Should win: Avatar (runner-up: An Education)
Will win: The Hurt Locker

Best Actor
Should/will win: Jeff Bridges (runner-up: Colin Firth)

Best Actress
Should win: Helen Mirren (runner-up: Carey Mulligan)
Will win: Sandra Bullock

Best Supporting Actor
Should/will win: Christoph Waltz (runner-up: Christopher Plummer)

Best Supporting Actress
Should/will win: Mo'Nique (runner-up: Anna Kendrick)

This year's Oscars are fairly easy to guess, and for the most part I agree with the would-be winners -- even though I think The Hurt Locker's great, I really want Avatar to win. I really don't understand why Sandra was even nominated, because she wasn't that great, IMO. Helen Mirren was amazing.

Yup, the entire show was just awful. Not the winners just the show itself. Adam Shankman, you failed! See you in the summer on So You Think You Can Dance!

I agree with the horror montage. A lot of the movies aren't even considered horror....

And the in memoriam segment was a little weird with no Farrah Fawcett....

I hope that Star Trek beats Avatar on Special efects. Come'on!

BTW, Cristina I love oyur icon :lmao: And I'd love that anna win the Oscar, but surely not.

The horror sequence was a joke. And I didn't like that Taylor and Kristen presented it. I didn't like that they were invited to the Oscars or Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron. It was WTF? They could have gone for some more talented young people.

:lmao:

I thought this year's Oscars were beyond predictable. I can't believe Sandra Bullock is now an Academy Award winner. I don't agree with her win, especially when I think of some who still haven't, who are much better, imo.

I wonder how James Cameron is feeling right about now. His movie grossed all the money in the world, but didn't garner the two biggest awards of the night. Those went to his ex-wife. lol

I loved Colin and Jeremy in SWAT. You know..I forget that Renner is 39...sometimes he doesnt even look 30.. I  him

So I was watching some entertainment shows and they were going on and on about how could a movie that made so little at the boxoffice be the best movie, when a movie like avatar made billions and was seen by more people.

Im like..WTF?! Since when does box-office money automatically make it a best movie contender? Damn..using that logic why wasn't New Moon nominated? That surely could've won over THL too.... oy. Give me a break.

Sandy winning was weird, but I found most of the winners very agreeable.

I am happy with all the winners :) especially Sandra and Hurt Locker :D

Although I must admit the ceremony did seem off..more so than in the past

well, Edward Scissorhands is not exactly a horror either so who knows on base the person was choosing the clips

and I forogt to say like the John Hughesbit too

The best thing about the Oscarrs was Jimmy Kimmel's show afterwards, and his segment "Handsome Men Club"..:lmao: And Robert Downey Jr.

But the actual show...eh..seeing NPH made me happy and wish he'd actually host the thing.

Dont agree with Sandra winning.....loved that The Hurt Locker won...

But yeah, the show was predictable. I kinda wanted to see Renner win best actor, but I knew he didnt have a chance. Oh wells!

But the most predictable award? The animated movie. Come on..you have UP nominated for Best Picture...if another movie had won for best animated, it would be a huge WTF moment..:lmao:

Ofcourse it didn't. The only difference I can see is that perhaps there are some movies there that people might see, if they see that they were nominated for Best Picture, that otherwise they'd turn away from.

That, and the academy people can claim they are branching out, including animated and sci-fi type movies in the mix

But yeah, I doubt anyone actually thought a movie like District 9 actually had a chance. (Though I loved it!)

^I'm so glad Hurt Locker won. Mainly because James Cameron got his ass whooped by his ex wife :lmao:

Aww the cast was so cute up there screaming for joy and Katheryn not knowing what to say and just staring at her actors
