Ok i'm gonna compare the 'stang GT to the camaro SS. The Camaro SS is quicker with its 420 HP or thereabouts compared to the GT's 315HP. However, the GT is much cheaper than the SS, and, in my opinion, looks much better, and retro. Another thing to keep in mind is Ford cars have very good reliability now, comparable with Honda/Toyota. Chevy/GM on the other hand has some pretty poor reliability on everything they make. GM is also hurting REALLY bad right now. Ford, while not great by any means, isn't going bankrupt anytime soon.
But in the end...the choice is yours. And remember...for the price difference, you could easily add a supercharger to the stang and smoke the camaro SS, and still spend less. The internals of the GT will handle around 10 PSI of boost just fine.
And to Ken, Horsepower doesn't mean everything. A V6 will not match the torque of a V8. Not to mention the Mustang being a fair bit lighter.
You actually believe those specs on 0-60 times? First of all...1/4 mile is where it's at..not some 0-60 lol. 13.6 on the new GT is far too slow, even with the 3.31 rear end. I've personally taken an '07 GT down the track, bone stock 300 HP. All i did was burn out a bit before the pass. Got a 13.45 as my best pass, and i'm not even that great at getting off the line. So the 13.6 with 315HP is bull unless whoever was driving it can't drive, or that's with the 5 spd. auto.
The GT and the SS are not close to the same price. GT is around $28,500...find me an SS for that price. And you're right..new technology..that fails and then you have to take it back to the dealer..what fun is that?
