2009 Yamaha R1 A Good Starter Bike ?

a friend of mine who works in a bike shop told me his first bike was a hayabusa and lived to tell the story. as for me ? im a quick learner and fearless of anything on wheels. i've never rode a liter sport bike but how hard can it be ? i was told as long as you respect its power and go easy with the throttle i should be alright. what do you guys think ?
hey i know its a big jump to buy a new R1 but i figure why buy a ninja 250 for $4k and then end up selling it for $2k then paying retail once again on another bike ? its a big loss money wise. plus i heard the new R1 has a throttle response control selector switch which allows you to decrease throttle response significantly for certain weather conditions or for beginners like myself lol
 
i think you've asked this same stupid question like 5 times already. your buddy also did not start riding on a hyabusa.
 
as long as you ride within your limitations you can start with any bike,My first bike was 71 triumph chopper with no front brake or front fender and a 10 inch over stock front end with 40 degrees of rake and skinny little z bar handlebars. Evert time I took off from a stop the front end would wobble! I got the hang of it though and its been choppers ever since.
 
new riders almost always drop or fall on their first bikes. Your really wouldn't want to do that on a brand new bike. Start with a used 90s sportbike. You can get a pretty nice 600cc-900cc for less than 3g and then sell it for almost the same when ever you're ready to get your new R1. I've seen so many people drop their brand new bikes leaving the dealership I work at. For your bikes' sake start w/ a used bike. Craigslist is great for used bikes.
 
nope not a good choice because anyone with a bike like that will not respect its power and there own limitations trust me you will probably die.
