2009 Toyota Scion XD?

Does anyone have a 2009 Toyota Scion XD or know about this car? My parents got me that car recently. Is it fuel efficient and cleaner on gas? Like it puts less gas in the environment making it clean compared to other cars. It's because at the toyota dealer, I read the paper in the window and I read something about it being cleaner on the gas for the environment, but I'm not sure if its correct.

In short it is just a basic fuel efficient car. Get about 30mpg. No other frills.
