after my ride today i found this whit powerd on the chain and the bolts that connect the wheel and the bike. i dont know what it is and if its bad. is it something i picked up on the road or something from the bike.
This might be from the chain lube that you are using. Make sure to wipe it off with a cloth and keep your chain lubed well - usually every 200-300 miles or when dry.
new bikes come with white grease on the drive chain and as it heats up it flings off and covers the rear of the bike. Its interesting you say its a powder, it could simply be the start of corrosion, protect metal parts with a spray of wd-40, don't get it onto your brakes or foot pegs though
