By "checked out" do you mean you actually test drove them? Cause you're comparing an entry level car (Civic) designed for frugality, with a Renesis-Rotary-toting sports car that's designed for eating up the race track (RX8). If the Civic is a coupe then surprisingly the RX8 is more practical; it has suicide doors which were actually designed well and for a 2+2 coupe the rear seats aren't too bad. The Rotary engine needs more TLC than the Civic's engine though.
