2009 Gundam suprise?-Speculation thread

Honestly I already want to be a manga artist, and I think I should be an anime director too!!

Trust me, I have some sick, twisted, crazy ideas going in my head every day!!

And by the way just call me Shugo, I prefer not to be called by my full username

I second Setsuna and 00 taking on Kira and Strike Freedom and Shin and Destiny. He neeRAB to give both of them a *****slap

Setsuna: I am... the TRUE GUNDAM!

Really, I'll probably eat up anything with the UC name on it. I'd go for some side stories OAV's, maybe set during some of the conflicts which never got quite as fleshed out as The One Year War.

Though what I'd really like to see is a continuation of the UC universe, hopefully something which could maybe tie up some of the loose enRAB left open, like the true purpose of the newtypes, and how the Earth Federation was disbanded.

I don't think there is a true purpose to the Newtypes. By the end of UC, the Newtype revolution seems to have been trumped by technology and there are rumours that Tomino likes Gundam X's final say on the matter.

Amuro: "We defeated the Neo-Devil Gundam and thankfully, no harm came to our loved ones"

*in the corner, Captain Gundam craddles a mutilated Shute* "I don't like playing by 'real robot' rules "

I've mentioned this a hundred times, but here's what I'm hoping for: a Gundam 30th Anniversary video game, preferably for Nintendo Wii and enhanced by MotionPlus; either be a straight fighting game or strategy game reminiscent of Jump Superstars/Super Robot Wars, except it would be easier to get around any copyright issues and release it internationally. Or maybe it could be something like Dynasty Warriors Gundam with it's hack and slash/gunning action and territorial gaining element. It could bring together the characters from all its greatest incarnations (including 00) and include both Japanese and English voices, and unlockable encyclopedia content on the characters, machines and locales; hopefully some of the series most popular songs too. That all seems like a bit much, but a fan can dream, can't he? Whatever they're planning, I'm glad they're doing something for its anniversary.

Oh, yeah, I completely forgot about SD Gundam Force. In real life, Real Zakus would be blowing the crud out of that place

At least AW could own those losers.

I may be wrong, but I believe 2009 is also the 25th anniversary of the original Transformers toy line (according to Wikipedia, the American toys debuted in 1984). Which brings me to...Transformers vs. Gundam, preferably as a fighting/strategy video game. The problem would be the the size of most of the Transformers compared to the Gundams.

REALLY bad idea to my mind, especially since Bandai are looking to use the games to introduced non-Asian audiences to Gundam now. I read a review of Gundam Musou on Play.com where a clearly ill informed reviewer called Gundam 'a poor man's Transformers'. That's the problem- the average person in the US and UK pictures Transformers as THE giant robot show and will compare Gundam to it (my family do this for example). Putting the two in a game togethor would only increase this comparison and make the problem far worse.

I like Transformers and I like Gundam. But a crossover would be a bad, bad move.
