2009 Blvd S50 Fuel Injection?

I am looking to buy a S50 but it has carbs and that seems like old tech. Fuel injection like most of the Blvd. models would be great. I would buy it in a flash. Any rumors out there on the 2009 Blvd. Line up?

Modern carbed bikes are pretty sophisticated, often with throttle position sensors and other devices to improve operability. All you really gain with EFI is simplified cold startup, marginal power improvements at various points in the rpm range, and negligible fuel economy. Sure, it's nice to have, but shouldn't sway you from buying a nice bike if you find one.

Guess I am waiting to see if they update the bike w/ FI for '09. I think Suzuki announces it's new line up in June or July. After reading Rowdyred94 link I might have one of the 4 stages. I would be coming off a '08 burg 400 to the S50. I want to expand my riding to include fwy's and the burgs 13" tires are somewhat taxed @ 65 mph. The bigger tires on the S50 hopefully will provide more stability.

No, there will be no updates on the S50 other than paint color.
The carburated motor in the S50 makes a lot more power than the fuel injected motors in the C50 and M50. The three motors are actually very different, sharing only displacement for marketing reasons. The S50 is a legacy model, simply a renamed Intruder 800, which has been in production for over 15 years. The Intruder 800 was in turn based on the Intruder 750/ 700 series, which dates back over 20 years. So yes, the technology is not cutting edge, but it is a proven, reliable, bulletproof design that is the performance king of mid-sized cruisers.
As for its future, the S50 still sells pretty well, so replacing it with a new model is not a high priority for Suzuki. But because it is a legacy model that will eventually be replaced, there will be no major changes to it for the remainder of production.
