Both are fun, quick cars.
The Acura is more reliable and handles better and is more luxurious.
The VW is cheaper, better looking, and has cheaper maintenance because it is not a luxury brand like Acura.
If you prefer luxury, get the Acura.

In my opinion you should get the VW GLI. for 1 your getting a lot for 24k. if you like speed then your gunna like the new 6 speed manual transmission...."The GLI is the most powerful Jetta available and comes with the GTI's in-line, 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine turbocharged to 200 horsepower. Like its more compact counterpart, the GLI has a relatively wide torque band and pushes out its full 207 pound-feet of torque between 1,800 and 5,000 rpm -- though as with the hatchback, the full horsepower only comes into play between 5,100 and 6,000 rpm. This engine is also shared with the base Audi A3 and TT."

Both go cars but the GLI stands no chance against the TSX. The Acura will not only last longer but its more for your money. The Acura TSX is ranked in the top 10 in 2008 of all the cars produced in 2008. You can't go wrong with it, Good Luck!
