2009 5th Gear Whine. Just How Bad is it?

13xxx miles on my 103 SG. Whine is still there, but I like it. 1st and 5th both make noise, but nothing that would make me think anything is wrong with her.

I hear more whining from yuppies and rubbies than my SG.

Last yr. I purchased an 08 RKC about this time and we rode two up to go
white water rafting in WV. And I thought it, the whine came in handy
in the twisty in WV. as I could always tell if I was in 4th or whinney 5th.
And as I had just changed the tranny oil to Mobil 1,75W90 most of the whine
has subsided to the point that now I can hardley hear it. Tenn.Vol.

I have just over 10.5 k miles on my '09 RK. Unfortunately for me, I have tinnitus so I can only wish I heard the whine. Honestly, I don't hear it. My hearing is impaired in one high frequency "zone" only somewhere under 20KHz I have a large drop, and then there is the constant ringing. I can't hear certain sirens/alarms like those used on computer servers to alert personnel that something is amiss (that part works out well), but as for the 5th gear whine, I can't tell the difference from other noises the bike emits. The wind makes more noise as best as I can tell, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Nope, don't notice it much here, either. I'm on a motorcycle, for God's sake. They make noise. I like the noise mine makes.
