2009 5th Gear Whine. Just How Bad is it?

Just bought a 2009 RKC w/3K miles.

Having never rode this bike, how annoying can I expect the 5th gear whine to be?

I presently have a 2007 Softail Custom, which allegedly has the dreaded whine, but I can't hear a thing.

What should I expect with the 09 RKC?

I did not know it was there until someone told me about it...

I really do not notice it at all. The rest of the bike makes way more noise.

Oh, what really bothers me more is the wind noise... I will complain to HD about it... (JUST JOKING).
 
At first I could hear it on my '09 RK, but after a few thousand miles it disappeared. It was never that big a deal to begin with. The really annoying loud whining was in the forums.
 
Like the others stated it's not that bad. I will say that what you put in the tranny fluid wise does impact it some. I noticed it when the bike was new. Switched out the factory fluid with bel ray and I honestly don't notice it. One thing about a Harley is that there will always be a noise or vibration somewhere combined with some heat... lol At least be glad you know what "that" sound is....
 
I don't consider it a problem at all. My 09 has the same setup. I understand I'm riding a motorcycle and that means there's going to be noise and wind. If I don't want to deal with the noise and wind I would be in a car.
 
My 09 TriGlide has the 5th gear whine. I like it as I know im in 5th gear. It's know big deal. It also clunks when I put it in 1st. Thats what Harleys do. I have a 10 Street Glide they changed the cut on the 5th gear does not whine. I like the 09 better.
