2008 kawasaki ninja 250r weird noise?

I just bought a 2008 kawasaki ninja 250r and it runs great....however sometimes when the bike is on or off there's a high pitched noise coming out of the gas cap. When i open the cap the noise is gone (it sounds like is under pressure or something...). Does any one know anything about this?Is this normal?Does any one own a ninja 250 that does the same thing?
