My friend just bought her first car about 3 weeks. She has keyless entry and we thought she had an alarm on her car until last night when someone broke her passenger window in the attempt to open the trunk while at the bar. She's not going out ever again or at least not driving that is. These cars aren't equipped with an inside trunk release and the idiot pulled the hood release thinking it was going to pop the trunk and lifted up the covers for the child seat latches in the back. I've read her manuel and she has a red light on her cluster that flashes when the car is off. Before I didn't notice it until I locked the car with the remote but I just noticed it illuminates right after the key is removed. She told me that she set her alarm off accidentally one night a couple days ago by opening the door. Is there anyway to tell if she has an alarm or if something was cut to disarm it because again the hood was opened . I want her to invest in alarm if she does not have one factory installed. Its 2009 no car should come without a perimeter alarm. Also I've heard that Fords perimeter alarm consist of shock sensors inside the cabin that monitor air movement and detect if a door, hood, trunk is opened or if the car is bumped or a window is broken. This true?
