2008 Election

Giuliani in a walk if he can get by the primaries. Obama is the flavor of the month. His day in the sun will end shortly.
 
Well, he would be one "Democrat" I would be voting for. His only problem is the Republican "base" that may reject him. It may be time to split the party to get away from the religious fundamentalists who have wielded more power than they deserve. What we need is competence; not ideology. Rudy proved that prior to 9/11 in NYC and after 9/11. He is clearly the best choice to fix what neeRAB to be fixing. He would have wide appeal, is well liked, and quite articulate.
 
For the Democrats, Hilary is looking like she might do alright but Al Gore could pose a big problem because of all the money he has. When Kerry committed political suicide on his comments, Hillary stepped on his neck when he was down. Obama doesn't have much of a chance because of inexperience. I don't like Hillary at all though. She is polarizing and I don't agree with her on much at all.

For the Republicans, (which I am) I would like to see Newt Gingrich throw his hat in the ring. He would be my first choice and he could win debates with other candidates. Not only is he a wealth of knowledge (PhD in History) but he is well spoken too. Rudy would be next because of the job he did in NYC was good and I think he can help the US. For social reforms though, I do not tend toward him much. But for me, economics outweighs social reforms by a lot.
 
The only way that Gingrich would have any possible chance of running would be as a third party candidate and that possibility is somewhere between zero and none. As it stanRAB right now there are only three top tier candidates; McCain, Giuliani and Romney. The two things that we can safely rule out is that there won't be any Bushs or Cheneys on the ticket in 2008. You might want to check out this link. I refer to it often.

Interesting site. I noticed that Gingrich's stock was up several hundred percent since inception. (Started at 1.0 and is now at 3 or 4 something). It is still low but it is improvement. But I'm afraid that you might be correct on this. Shucks.
