2008 C50 Mpg

I am brand new to the site and have not ridden in a decade. I have looked at everything and from the, bang for the buck, economic stand point, the C50 looks like the winner in my book. All I have to do is run in and sign the contract and drive out in the morning. All that I really, really would like to know, because I cannot find hard data from anyone, is what MPG can I expect.

On my '05, hauling my fat butt back and forth to work -- 14 miles of two lane @ 55-60mph, with a little town in between -- I get 48-50mpg on 87 grade gas. With a light throttle on back roads at 45-50mph, it'll turn in 52 or so. Hit the superslab at 70mph for extended time, about 46mpg.

of course, ymmv.

What I got (doing a lot of highway) was about 42-43mpg on my M50 (almost the same bike as the C50). After I added a windshield, that jumped and has hung steady at about 52mpg.

2007 c50t = 52 to 55. Intown, out-of-town, downtown, aroundtown, uptown, across town, Got to love it.

I have a new 07, so far I've been in the 42-46 mpg range. I only have about 400 miles on it and each time I've filled it's been a little better. Still having to much fun twistin' the throttle!:bluethum: I expect it will get better as my driving habits "improve".

Depending how heavy you are on the throttle, you should be in the 50mph range.

You will not regret the choice.
If you get the T model or one with the same set up,at time of bike purchase, you will find it cheaper than adding later.

Why so? sitting on the bike, arms out, a human is basically a misshapen parachute when riding. Put a windshield on it, now the wind is directed around, rather than being caught against the body. From an engineering standpoint, particularly when compared to cars, motorcycles are aerodynamic disasters. Even a sportbike, when compared to a sports car, has a considerably worse drag coefficient.

Anyhow, that has remained a constant, hanging steady at 52.5mpg for my last 3 fill ups.

I have a 2008 C50T, averaged 48.86 mpg and have 648 miles on it. Country driving, no city per-se....mostly country roads.....

What was done at your 600 mile service checkup?? How much???

I have mine schedule for this Saturday the 31st....

It depends on the service dept. of your local shop, by the book they can ding you for valve adjustment, others say it is not needed for several thousands of miles later.
Talk to your service manager.

I am happy to say that I have actually joined the ranks and did purchase a new C50 two-tone blue and grey. Loving it so far. Thank you everyone for the info.
