2008-2009 kawasaki ninja 250r a good purchase?

Is a 2008-2009 kawasaki ninja 250r a good starter bike? I'm 14 now, turning 15 in 2 days, and I want to know if it's any good. If so, should I get new for $4000.00 or used for $2800.00? New would obviously be a 2009, but used would be a 2008( the one for 2800, and it looks to be in great shape, the guy says he's just hard up for money). If you have other bikes to sudgest, don't even mention choppers or harleys or other american bikes. I want a bullet bike or something that looks like one. Also not interested in a ninja 500r, as it doesn't look quite the same. So is the kawasaki ninja 250r a good bike to start with, or not??? Answers are much appreciated. Thanks!

its a good bike to start with, but keep in mind that after you get better at riding you'll find you wish you had a bigger bike. i would consider a 500 or 600. are you interested in any other brand than kawasaki?
