2007 Yamaha YZF-R6: Popped a rear tire this afternoon. Suggestions?

I popped the rear tire this afternoon on my 07 R6. Found two puncture points.

Q1: Can I plug it or patch it to last out the season? No road trips or anything. Just to and from work/school.
Q2: Any recommendations for tires? I am looking for a medium compound tire with a more aggressive tread pattern.
racefanwfo56 -- thanks but I've done some research and you can plug a tire, its not good forever but it'll get you home and around a little bit. but best to buy a new tire.

Tim - Thanks for the tip man. I'll have to pick up one of those kits.

Of course you can plug a tyre. I have had one plugged myself. Any decent tyre shop will do it.

Personally, I use a Michelin Pilot Road 2 on the back . They are a 2 compound tyre (hard in the centre, soft on the sides) I get good milage out of mine and they hang on well in the twisties. Also very good in the wet.

buy a new tire easy since your life depends on it
sure you can plug a tire to get you some where to buy another tire sure it might hold for life of tire and then again might blow out doing 90 and you die and well a new tire price is cheap but sure it will get you home or to a place you can replace it is a good thing to have car truck or bike just its not a great to not replace it you only have two where a car a flat tire is nothing on a bike it can kill sure plug it and then ride home replace tire
