They probably don't know that Seattle @ Arizona is not in hd. Would not this game be more appropriate for the West and Pacific feeds, as this game will be on the Seattle Fox channel.

On game day they might switch to the hd game for the hd channel, somewhere in the 2nd quarter.

like I said in previous post; when I called to get help they had no idea what I was talking about. After being passed on to 3 different people, I finally asked them why don't they just try it on their TV,s at the BEV office and then they could see what I was talking about. They said they can't do that because they are in India. Just Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NFL Sunday Ticket has been available in Canada for 3 years now entering it's forth.

As for the question of showing (in Canada) all available HD games...see below:

2004-2005 Season = BEV only
2005-2006 Season = BEV only
2006-2007 Season = BEV only

2007-2008 Season = ??? BEV?
(not sure BEV will be showing "all" HD games this year...)

For the past 3 years BEV has been the sole provider of the "HD" version of NFL Sunday Ticket in Canada. Will this be the same this year? Who knows? Will they (BEV) carry all available HD games like in years past? Time will tell.

P.S. If the question was meant as "What other alternatives do you have?"
Then the answer is grey market DirecTV... which I will have to admit is looking mighty fine for next year when DirecTV has over 100 Channels of HD and BEV is stuck with what it has now... Don't get me wrong, IF (when) I go this route i'll still keep BEV which has plenty of exclusive HD content not to mention time shifting the major American networks and no blackouts on NFL Sunday Ticket.

Here's what's coming on DirecTV in the next 9 months (CONFIRMED):

well i gave in just bought the damn game for $24.99 and it opened up all the channels. Looks like they are doing a per week deal of $24.99 this year and its somewhat buggy.

I got them to put a note on my account to give me a credit for this charge should it appear.

My point was that Bell is (far) ahead of every other Canadian provider in terms of NFL ST HD.

And believe me, I am very aware of the DTV alternative.

The guy told me to set the timer and you will not get charged other then your original Sunday ticket...yeah right.

thats true....they won't charge you TWICE;)

It's not wrong. For the first time in 4 years BEV is re-using the same channels
for 4PM SD games. They have always done this for HD games but this year is the first time they do it for SD games. I'm perfectly fine with that as I don't care about SD games (I only care about HD ones) and if this move free's up more space to cary ALL HD games, than I say go for it.

BEV is doing this (re-using SD channels for 4PM games) every week this year.
Here is the FULL schedule for the NFL Sunday Ticket on BEV (in SD ONLY) for the entire 2007 season:

http://www.youknowwho.ca/web/tv/en/all_regions/pdfs/nflst.pdf

P.S. Just change "youknowwho" by... you know who... it's a 4 letter word...

Other than a few technical glitches as described above and some minor freezing the NFLST coverage and quality was absolutely superb.

Too bad I can't say the same for my Saints.

Because for the past 3 years (since BEV started carying NFL ST), BEV has broadcasted ALL of the HD games available and I expect it to continue this year as well as next year when ALL the games are HD. That's what I pay for and that's what I expect. I see no reason why BEV, if it uses discretion and good will, cannot continue to provide the excellent service (ALL HD games) it has provided so far. Don't disapoint me and force my hand to go running to the americans...

Lars,

The funny thing is that no one out here in the West likes Seattle. This was one of the driving forces behind Sunday Ticket is we all want our favorite teams not the crappy local team.

Unfortunately the TV studio people don't get it. People migrate west thus their favorite teams are usually east. But they continue to show the crappy some what local team.

So far so good... almost... --> 10/11 HD games confirmed on BEV and there is still channel 469 with information unvailable so hopefully they will put the Miami Dolphins @ Washington Redskins game on that channel.

See below BOLD RED for BEV channels

P.S. This is post #69 in this thread :D

Virtually none of the channels attributed to DirectTV are available in Canada.

Rogers has been carrying NFL Sunday Ticket for several seasons, including in HD.

It's not wrong. For the first time in 4 years BEV is re-using the same channels
for 4PM SD games. They have always done this for HD games but this year is the first time they do it for SD games.

Bull****.

More people have SD then HD. bad choice on BEVs part IMHO.

So far not even an inside rumor that there might be a super sports package...

Weak. Even Starchoice now offers a NFL ST/NHL CI combo for $199.

I get NFL ST/NHL CI & MLB EI. Damn I hope Rogers was available in Vancouver.

This actually makes perfect sense. The Seattle Seahawks will NEVER show up on Sportsnet West and Pacific...as their games are picked up on City Vancouver (which of couse has simsub rights over FOX/CBS Seattle).

The Rogers practice for NFL seems to be established - they'll carry two games each Sunday. One will be a game carried by FOX or CBS Buffalo - this will air on OMNI.2 (for simsub purposes), and Sporstnet West and Pacific. The other game will be one carried by FOX or CBS Seattle - this will air on City Vancouver, and Sportsnet Ontario, HD and East.

Their priority is to maximize simsubs in Toronto and Vancouver, and to offer basic cable viewers in these two markets the choice of two games.

I'm not a fan of the Seahawks either, and prefer to watch teams in the AFC.

I forgot about CITY Vancouver as I never watch it. I only watch games if they are in hd.

Saw a promo today on Rogers Sportsnet saying that Seattle @ Arizona was available in hd. Others say that game will be widescreen sd.

Flaw in your logic: Anyone who can afford 189$ + Taxes for NFL Sunday Ticket "should" be able to afford an HDTV and therefore should care more about the HD broadcasts then the SD ones. Once you go HD you don't go back.

fyi,

Pirates were not able to get ST free last year. As for this year? I'd guess that they will secure it again.

I only watch in HD, The Oakland/Denver and vikings/detroit game started late on my system, and the audio came after

I did the same thing before leaving for work this morning. Another thing is I have 3 TV's and you have to do the same purchase thing on each one. also, if you go under the purchase info in your menu. It shows up as a purchase. So this should be real interesting come bill time. Like you, I also got them to put a ton of info on my file so I can have something to fight back with. Anyways, it should be real interesting to see what happens. I tell you what, if go home and this game did not tape properly on my PVR, I will be pissed and I don't think right now it would take to much for me to take my business elsewhere.
