2007 MLB Extra Innings on BEV

Problem being, if you call the customer service with regards to that all we can do is to put a note on your account...which programming departement will probably not see cause they certainly do not go look in each accpoun in case there is something! If you want to complain I think the web site is a better option

My local Cable company (Eastlink) just started offering Extra Innings last week as part of Super Sports Pak. This includes MLB Extra Innings, NHL Centre Ice, and NFL Sunday Ticket for $26.95/month. If Bell were to offer this type of deal, it wouldn't matter when they start. I would certainly subscribe if BEV were to offer it.

Anyone know where the Cubs-Cardinals game is tonight? It is a makeup game and second game of a day-night doubleheader, but it should be on.

I guess I’ve been spoiled with Extra Innings so far with 99% of the Red Sox games in HD. But last night with the most important series of the season yet, I can’t believe it wasn’t anywhere. I kept flipping through all the MLB channels in disbelief in case it wasn’t in the IPG. I finally found it on RDS where it was just called Baseball on the IPG. It reminded me of the old Expos days, but still no excuse to not have that game anywhere in the MLB EI package. VERY Disappointing!

As I promised , Bell has game in the FOX Window (before 7PM ET) this weekend (6/23) in EI.

Game started at 1pm et though same has the cubs/white sox game on WGN and jays game on CBC.

What channel are the DET/ATL & HOU/TEX games??????

"Doesn't matter. In the USA all games shown on a NATIONAL NETWORK(abc, nbc, fox, versus) are blacked out on Center Ice. It doesn't matter if your company is only showing 1 game or 4 games you won't be able to see the other National games on Center ice because the networks have paid a price for the exclusive.

Example

Detroit at Boston(national)
NY Rangers at Tampa bay(regional)
San Jose at Dallas(regional)"

Really all three games are regional since not one of them is shown across entire country. But I know you are saying Det@Bos is the main game.

However, CI in the USA does show all those NBC regional feeds in CI. They did for ABC and FOX as well.

"Even if versus is showing 2 regional games on at the same time. Also Versus has a EXCLUSIVE deal on certain Mondays. Thats means NO GAMES WILL BE SHOWN ON CENTER ICE ON MONDAYS until the versus game is over. Thats why you see only a few games on Mondays this past season. "

Not entirely correct. The VS. exclusive thing is exactly like TSN's Wednesday night window. Games in CI not affected. For example, Montreal played Toronto on a Monday on TSN during VS. exclusive window. The Toronto-Toronto game was in CI in the USA.

EDIT- Date of the above example 2/26/07. Game was Montreal v Toronto. (I had posted Ottawa originally)

Versus also never shows regional action.

Actually I do not think they would be any info yet. The deal in the US is not even finalized yet. latest rumor is DirecTV/MLB is close to announcing that Extra Innings will be exclusive on DirecTV (This would not effect Canada, as Nascar Hotpass and Sunday Ticket are also "exclusive") but either way the deal has not been finalized yet.

At the same time I would not hold my breath waiting for it, but the fact they offer the NCAA package atleast makes it possible.

I emailed Expressvu my disappointment of not being able to see the Red Sox once again. If the Programming Dept. doesn't read the notes, why did I waste my time writing them?

1PM is in the EI FOX window that you quoted and said that EVU would have to enforce. I said they wouldn't have to enforce it like the US providers have to.

Not sure how a game on WGN or CBC at the same time has to do with EI showing a game within the window though.

Anyways, sorry for the I told you so.

However, games on superstations on American providers CAN be blacked out in local markets. IE, games on WPIX, WGN, and TBS can be blacked out in US markets.

Of course those are US CHANNELS. US cable/satellite companies have the right to blackout those games on local markets. In Seattle if a game is on CBC it will still be shown on Center Ice because CBC is a CANADIAN CHANNEL WHILE Seattle is a US CITY.

I think it is fair. Games available nationally are not included in the package. I have no problem with that.

Nationally in the USA. Its not nationally in Canada. With what you are saying I guess NHL Center Ice can blackout games on ABC in Canada? Hmmmm no its a USA station.

Are WPIX, WGN, TBS available nationally in Canada (specifically on EVU) without blackouts?

YES. They are available nationally in CANADA.

How are they not available nationally in Canada?

It doesn't matter that they are US or Italian or Australian. They are available across the entire country on EVU. NATIONALLY, IE the entire country on EVU.

EI on EVU is showing games that are not available nationally in Canada. Games on SNET P/W/O/E, TSN, WGN, TBS, WPIX are available across the entire country without EI. Most sports packages offer games not currently available in the market.

Would it be nice for those games to be in EI? Of course, but the games are available without EI already regardless of where you live in Canada.

Dean is correct.

Say NBC is doing 3 games, det/min bos/nyr and la/ana. and you live in Chicago and your NBC is picking up the Det/Min game. The Bos/NYR and LA/ANA games are in Centre Ice and the Det/Min game would be blacked out.

I believe the Versus exclusive window is for local telecasts not CI, I recall some Canadian matchups in US CI last season during the Monday Versus window.

Too bad you did not have Rogers/MLBEI. The dam* Red Sox are on every night. It's sickening actually.

Thank you for your response ExpressVu agent.

I was a little frustrated when I sent this last night. The agent I spoke to didn't know what MLB Extra Innings was and I was angry because the Sox game wasn't available.

I think what is happening is that Sportsnet is making last minute changes and BEV isn't aware. Last night they decided to show a hockey game, BEV did not have the game on Extra Innings because I'm sure they thought Sportsnet had it. The result was no Red Sox/ Yankee game.

This is a reply to moosefan: I am getting set to go on vacation so I have put my Bell Expressvu receivers in "vacation mode". I happened to be looking at the guide(which of course is all in red) this past week(just for something to do....silly I know), and happened to come across this information. I don't know if it was a glitch and I was receiving information in the guide that other members in this post clearly were not......but there it was. I have no interest in MLB whatsoever, so therefore I was just making the information available to those who might get excited over something like this.....check out the price in an earlier post......with half the season gone. IT'S BELL EXPRESSVU STEALING FROM IT"S CUSTOMERS, AGAIN!!!! I leave you with a famous saying: 'Tis better to watch paint dry than baseball. LOL
Have a good summer.
