2007 MLB Extra Innings on BEV

although looking at the provided PDF, it appears that if a game is not going to air on the Fox E/W, then it will air in the MLB EI package...

Why wasn't the ANA/LA game on MLB EI on Saturday Afternoon then????? It wasn't on Fox East or Fox West(they had the red sox game on BOTH channels)

KTLA didn't have that game on either

I also saw these channels a few weeks ago in test mode. It was during the day on a week day. Only there for a few hours. I doubt they will proceed with MLB Extra Innings because Sports Net it now showing a lot of games other than the Blue Jays. Cubs games are available on the Chicago channel, Atlanta games are carried, and Met games are carried. Fox sports has Saturday tied up. With all these games, Extra Innings would have to have an extreemly attractive price or they won't get anyone subscribing.

"I still don't think its fair to people who don't get these stations and must pay $16/month more instead of $5/month more because Bell dosn't advertise it."

We agree on that 100%. That is bogus and frankly quite sleazy.

Unfortunatly, there is not much that the technical departement could do about it... Saturday we had a guy who called saying that there was only one game showing in his guide for Sunday, and the agent who took his call didn't know what to tell him, so when she saw me asked my help. The schedule on the Bell site when you select the package won't open on our computers. The channels are not listed on the "what's on" schedule

Unless we know for sure that there is a game playing on the channels there is not much we could do

If you call to say a certain game didn't play all we can do is appologise, and maybe offer a free PPV to compensate...

So does anyone have a reply to the original question? Will we get MLB Extra Innings on BEV?

It looks like tonights Red Sox game isn't on MLBEI. This is the 3rd game in the past 2 weeks that hasn't been shown. I'm frustrated, what can be done to get this fixed? I have tried calling and the CSR's are not able to help. There are alot of Red Sox fans in Canada! We want the games

I like the protractors myself! I guess you meant the Angels, or more correctly, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

I haven't read the info yet on the blackout, and look for an explanation on why those games are not part of the package, or try to get the answer for a supervisor. I will post the answer as soon as I get it.

For the Superstations, and agent should never offer the Superstations alone according to our policy. It could only be used as a retention tool. This is the reason why you won't see Superstations by itself on the web site.

I think we would have heard something by now considering spring training has started. Maybe next year.

Yep starting 10am, 99.99 and free preview as stated earlier.

Interesting note:

I spoke to several employees of Bell today. In the past Bell was testing and the channels were visible at various times to FTA users but only recently to subscribers. This person says that subs should never have seen those channels. I don't know if its true but that's what I was told.

Anyway, apparently Bell has been in negotiatons for quite some time and pricing was the sticking point for why it took so long. It was just a short time ago (don't know if that means days or weeks ago) that a deal was struck hence the late start.

I've been corresponding with the audience relations rep at Rogers Sportsnet. He tells me that RSN does issue a grid notice when there are programming changes with baseball coverage.

In other words, Bell should have been notified that Rogers changed coverage from Boston to San Francisco games this week to follow the Bonds home run chase.

I encourage anyone who has an issue with this to contact Bell. For what it's worth perhaps the message may finally get through if someone at Bell hears it enough.

I suspect Expressvu doesn't have any control over what is shown on MLB Extra Innings. Check out the following site for information on the U.S. package. Expressvu probably can't show any games that are already shown on stations which are available on other stations within their area.

Yes, they are national channels. NBC's games (and ABC/FOX in the past) shown are all regionally televised, IE, not all games available throughout the entire country.

Doesn't matter. In the USA all games shown on a NATIONAL NETWORK(abc, nbc, fox, versus) are blacked out on Center Ice. It doesn't matter if your company is only showing 1 game or 4 games you won't be able to see the other National games on Center ice because the networks have paid a price for the exclusive.

Example :)

Detroit at Boston(national)
NY Rangers at Tampa bay(regional)
San Jose at Dallas(regional)

Lets say you only get 2 feeds of NBC. NBC Seattle and NBC Boston. Both NBC stations that you get are only carrying the Detroit at Boston game. So that means you should get the other games on Center Ice right? Well no because NBC paid to show those games only on there station in the United States. It doesn't matter if you don't have access to another NBC station that shows the other games.

Same with Versus. So many households in the United States can't get Versus because there TV company refuses to carry it. But Versus paid rights to those games. So even if your TV provider doesn't carry the station Versus you still can't watch games on Versus on Center Ice even if it is your home team. Even if versus is showing 2 regional games on at the same time. Also Versus has a EXCLUSIVE deal on certain Mondays. Thats means NO GAMES WILL BE SHOWN ON CENTER ICE ON MONDAYS until the versus game is over. Thats why you see only a few games on Mondays this past season.

TSN has a similar thing in Canada on Wednesdays but thats for all neworks(including REGIONAL stations).

For MLB Extra Innings Fox has an EXCLUSIVE for Saturday afternoon games in the United States. I don't think Canada counts though but we will see next week.

Of course when the Superstations package was first brought out by EVU, they can a barker channel dedicated to promoting it. Wow, have things changed.

I understand somewhat saying Superstations can't be a theme, but I don't understand the thinking of not "truly" offering it unless someone has grandfathered or insider knowledge of the packge.

I mean is that the message that a company wants to give.

I have a dude i work with.. weard guy lol.. but none the less he has fta and hes always telling me when bells adding channels and what not. He told me this morning that they added mlb package and it says free preview from June 15-17 for the information.

Now.. Neither of my 4100's nor my HD 6100 list anything about MLB... but he has told me that he see's the mlb package and it says free preview.. I would trust this guy because he alerted me back when bell got the Fight Network.. so hes probably right.

Its pretty freaking sad that people who don't pay for the service know more then the folks who spend their hard earned $$ AND the people who work at bell lol

Mabie this explains why the HD Movies have been taken down until friday..

OK, so smack me with a wet noodle.

Adding MLB Extra Innings, even as lamely as they have a few days before the don't-matter-fer-sh*t-in-the-standings All-Stars games, ought to be worth, at least -- am I the only one listening here?!? -- a press release?

OK, so maybe they don't want to highlight that, if you subscribe, your July invoice will be almost $100 higher than otherwise whilst a Rogers Super Sports Pak subscriber will be just $26.95 and include (in July) Nascar HotPass which is another $159 charge for Bell customers. Plus NFL Sunday Ticket will be included two months later in Sep for Rogers but that's ANOTHER $179 or so fee for ExpressVu fans.

I get this package is wholly uncompetitive with cable companies, like Rogers, offering MLB Extra Innings and NFL Sunday Ticket in a Super Sports Pack.

But surely, finally, begrudgingly making a deal with the MLB -- which cable and satellite companies in the US and Rogers in Canada have managed to find common ground on for several years -- is worth a formal announcement?

Or maybe Bell thinks it's current 1.8 million customers -- or perhaps the 20% capable of receiving Nimiq2 -- don't deserve this weekend free preview?
