2007 Ford Fusion or 2006 Volkswagen Passat?

both priced in my range. I own an older passat and love it but this car is for my parents.

Which one would you pick and why?

Also the dealer is giving their forever warranty, it is an unlimited miles lifetime of ownership of the car and covers engine, transmission and drivetrain. What are your opinions on that?
