2006 Pontiac Vibe. Engine light came on?

Checked my owners manual and it said it could be a loose gas cap. Sure enough I had not put it back on correctly. The manual says after a few trips, the light should go off. What's a few trips, I don't want to hurt anything if this is not the problem. This all happened yesterday
 
If the gas cap was loose it should be fine. If you're not sure about the gas cap, go to an Auto Zone or Advance Auto and have them scan for codes.Write the code down before they erase it. PO455 is the code for an emission system gross leak which is usually the gas cap loose.
