I've just installed an after-market stereo in my Eclipse, it looks and works great. The only set back is that the deck doesn't have compatibility with the heads-up display which displays the time, temperature, and if connected to the factory deck, track, volume etc. The temp, and time region works fine, but everything else displays now E com (guessing error in communication or something like that).
Any way, I was wondering if any one knew of a adaptor for the comm port (shall we call it comm port?) or if someone had some new and interesting ideas as to what they've put in there in it's stead. I was thinking it would be really cool to put in some custom text scrolling, or maybe some java applets ... side scrolling tetris? Any one have enough experience with this to give me some pointers?
The deck in question is Alpine IVA-W205.
