Perplexing. One would think that everything would be fine on a 2006...
Make sure that your engine cooling fan is working. The fan is supposed to go on and off to keep the engine temp in a certain range.
When was the last time you changed your oil? Very old or thin oil does not work as well as new oil...also, are you driving with oil!?! I know that sounds nuts, but I have seen cars leave oil changing garages that were not filled up properly, check the oil lever, while your at it, check the antifreeze and make sure that it is not all water, should be about a 50/50 mix.
A bad or sticking thermostat can also cause an engine to overheat.
If none of those work, than you might as well get some good suntan lotion and a portable fan.
