...Electrical Problem? I've been working on a 2006 Ford Focus for a few days trying to find the source of an electrical problem in the lights. The running lights work in the back, the tail lights that is when you are driving down the road, but when you apply brakes the rear right light does not respond. The turn signal on the rear right side doesn't work either. I have checked the fuses 42 (stop lamps), 30 (parking lamps), and 32 (turn signal) but there was nothing wrong with the fuses for the lights. I also tried changing the bulbs, but that wasn't the problem either. The running lights still work on the rear right corner, but the brake light and turn signal light do not work on the rear right tail lights. I can't figure out what the problem is. Electricity is reaching the brake light, but it doesn't work. The front turn signal on the right side works, but it is blinking very rapidly now that the one on the right in the back does not work. Please help me figure out the problem. The dealership wants to charge several hundred to fix and they want to keep the car for 3 to 5 days. I can't wait that long.

Those good old helpful, greedy dealers.
The brake and turn signal work from the same filament in the bulb. If you replace the bulb your problem should be over. Be sure you get the correct bulb. If power is reaching the bulb, as you state, then it must be a bulb problem. Check the contacts in the bulb holder for corrosion.
