2006 Dodge Ram / No air control?

I have a 06 Ram. That being said the heater and ac have a mind of their own.If i want to use the defroster only about 50% of the air is directed to the windshield. As holds true with any setting I choose to put it on.The vents get warm/cold air sometimes although not much,some comes out the vents some out the floor and a little out the defroster. Could it be the main control unit and if so how do I go about getting it out to replace it?
 
i have a 99 did the same thing. under the passenger side of the dash is 2 silver cylinders with vacuum lines going to them. they were only working part of the time. my problem was those. it could be that or your central control unit. good luck
