2006 Chevy Trailblazer Vapor Canister/Purge Vent?

OK, After my Check Engine light went on, I was 1st told it was my gas cap. Bought a new one and the guy at AutoZone reset the light. Light came back on 1 mile down the road. I went to ANOTHER AutoZone and they said it was most likely either my vapor canister being soaked with fuel or a bad purge vent. I believe the trouble code was P0449. Where can I find these parts in the SUV to check them. A guy told me if the Vapor Canister was saturated, I could probably just empty the fuel out and it should be OK. Also, after fixing, will the Check Engine light reset or will I have to have it reset?

The charcoal canister is located under your hood. On my chevy its located in front of the fire wall in front of the driver. Yes, one solution is to pour the gas out of the canister, but as you've seen already, that may not be the solution for trouble code P0449. The trouble codes are elusive and when you think its done, they come back on. I'd be checking all the components that the canister touches. If I really thought it was the canister, I'd probably buy one from a junk yard first and then start back through the trouble shooting process. Good luck
