2005: The Up/Down

Yeah, they kind of went in a different direction.
Half of the songs mention God and the whole album is country.
The corabination forced me to laugh...and not buy it.

Best in my opinion
Judas Priest - Angel Of Retribution. What do I need to day.HalforRAB return has to make it worthwhile

Deep Purple - Rapture Of The Deep. They still sound just as good as ever.

Worst
The Darkness - One Way Ticket To Hell. They need one.

U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Borab. It's a carbon copy of their last album only with different lyrics

1st of all , shut your mouth and get a clue!!!:nono: I was clearly on topic the whole time by talking about why I agreed with another on why an album was/is a failure!!!I talked clearly about the difference of people playing on Electric guitar, thinking that they might be good and realizing that they can't quite play anything creative on Acoustic guitar, simply showing that they really suck at it, just like you do, especially in your spelling!!!I'm mainly a highly skilled and proficient drummer that has played many styles in the music scene for, most likely, more years than you've been alive!!!Even though I'm mainly a drummer, I'm also quite adept at playing lead guitar, as I used to focus on for many years and still somewhat do!!!:band: I guarantee you that my worst riff is much more creative and original than their best lead, whether played on Electric or Acoustic guitar!!!Hell, do they even know how to play a lead?I guess not, huh? In closing, 1st I'd recommend on taking a 1st grade English class to learn to spell and then take some guitar lessons to have atleast some kind of clue on what is really going on in music!!!I really did cut you a break on this one, ya crybaby!!!You should learn to escape from your rediculous replys in threaRAB because, when you get out on the streets, there will be no chance in hell that you'd muscle up enough courage to say any of your replys to a real person's face, such as me!!!I surely would like to break the nose and even leg off of a jacka ss as truly cowardly as you, though, period!!!:D

great job buddy. point out all the spelling and grammar mistakes in a post, and completely blow off the actual content, even though by reading it, you might (god forbid) learn something new. Riseagainstrocks's post was well thought out and made a lot of good points, but, like a bitter high school english teacher, you saw a few spelling mistakes and disregarded the entire thing as unintelligent crap. and you say THEY'RE the idiots.....

You know what I really hate? The "you don't play an instrument and/or aren't in a band therefore you have no right to talk about this band/music/whatever" argument.

Resorting to violent talk on an internet message board is clearly the typing of a child. Grow up. Please.

As for all of this 'Jack White can't play guitar' crap, you've obviously never seen Jack play guitar. He is incredibly talented.. He is on this month's cover of Guitar World with Jimmy Page (that's Led Zeppelin, child).. Page praises Jack's creativeness.

Go ahead and **** on Led Zeppelin, child, I dare you.

I've been playing guitar for 11 years. I've seen the White Stripes 5 times. White is a ******* amazing guitarist. Period. Indisputable, listen to Ball And Biscuit or Death Letter. Don't **** on him, whether you think the album is well-done or not. By the time Jack was 15 he was more talented and well-mannered than yourself.

By the way, please don't reply saying you wish you could 'break my nose'. You already sound like an adolescent on the internet.

I'd like to start off with my 3 Biggest Album Disappointments (especially since the first 2 albums listed I had high expectations for)

1. Weezer, "Make Believe"
I don't really know what to say - I was shocked to hear Weezer make such an all around bad album. The only two songs that are even close to redeemable are "Hold Me", and "Beverly Hills" (a clear radio hit cop-out for the label, but stil not bad, nonetheless) The rest is absolute garbage - including the absolute worst song of 2005 "We Are All On Drugs".

3. Sleater-Kinney, "The WooRAB"
I know a lot of critics liked this album, but I didn't like what the girls did with this one. I still love listening to Carrie Brownstein play guitar on almost every song, but for some reason, I just couldn't get into this album. Still, a couple of songs stand out, including "The Fox", and "Jumpers". The rest just didn't click with me like other S-K albums have.

2. Black Eyed Peas, "Monkey Business"
B.F. (before Fergie) BEP guys used to have some street cred (see "Bridging the Gap from 2000). However, it's clear now that all BEP care about is hitting a home run radio hit with every song. "Monkey Business" has way to many guests, and tries way to hard to please everyone.

Now my 3 Best Albums of 2005…

1. The New Pornographers, "Twin Cinema"
"Twin Cinema" is chock full of beautiful melodies and harmonies, and is head-and-shoulders my favorite album of '05. "Falling through Your Clothes" is a simply a great song, and "These Are the Fables" is catchy and poppy while at the same time being unique and interesting. Neko Case gets a lift on many songs with the additions of Nora O'Conner, and Kathyrn Calder - And the entire album benefits from it. Be sure to also check out "Stacked & Crooked", and (my favorite song title of the year) "Jackie Dressed in Cobras"

2. Jack Johnson, "In Between Dreams"
I know a lot of Jack Johnson songs sound the same - it's easy to get his albums mixed up. I've repeated this very statement myself to Jack Johnson fans since "Brushfire Fairytales"; However, I cannot deny this album's appeal, and Jack's songwriting has gotten a bit more adventurous. Some songs revert back to the earlier doe-eyed and gooey fare he used to write but for the most part, many of the tracks are well-written, played and produced. I particularly like "Better Together", and "Staple it Together", and "Banana Pancakes".

3. White Stripes, "Get Behind Me Satan"
OK - This may be the most polarizing album in a long time (particularly for Stripes' fans) Most people either loved it or hated it - I personally loved it. Jack White is still THE best songwriter in rock 'n roll today… even if he misses the mark every now and then. To me, the good ones far outweigh the bad ones. And in my opinion, there's more good than bad on this album, including, "Doorbell", "I'm Lonely, But I Ain't That Lonely", and "Forever For Her Is Over For Me". Not their best album, but still good nonetheless.

1. Do not ever tell someone to shut up on my ****ing forum.

2. Acoustic and Electric guitar differ in the signals (albiet sound, square, or saw waves) that are produced from the vibration of the strings. Therefore if someone play's good acoustic songs, he/she will play good electric songs and vice versa. You might not like the song, but saying that the difference in ability was because of the sounRABcape that was used is asinine.

3. Big3 might not be the prettiest grammer, but at least his post are understandable. You use smiley's like they're going out of style. And you're grammer is atrocious. Do not attempt to "school" someone for spelling or grammatical errors when you have trouble as well.

4. People who play guitar naturally have an edge on musical knowledge. Guitar lessons would not improve Big3's grasp of Theory. Theory classes would. You lose.

5. Who the **** are you to threaten someone ONLINE with physical violence? You sir, just lost every bit of credibility you had. Which, I assure you, wasn't to great of a loss.

In conclusion, you have done nothing but make lame comments and attempt to feed your obviously outrageous ego from petty arguements online.

now for my on topic contribution

Best of '05

Between the Buried and Me - Alaska
Amazing in every possible respect. The guitar switches styles as fast as the drums pump out jazz and blast beats. One of the few banRAB that incorporates bass very well into their arrangments also. The only weak thing about the record is the lyrics. They sound like Tommy Rogers had a fever when he wrote them. Very odd and esoteric. But still, my favorite release of '05

With Passion - In the MiRABt of Bloodied Soil
They describe themselves as melodic-black-spazz-jazz-hit-by-a-bus metal. I'd have to agree.

Dark Tranqullity - Character
The kings of Gothenburg are back in prime form. Every song is a sonic assault on the senses. Haunting melodies, memorable riRAB, and some of the best sounding electronic parts I have ever heard.

Worst of '05

At All Cost - It's Time To Decide
It's not really a terrible album, it's just a huge dissapointment. Since signing to Corabat RecorRAB and relocating to Richmond, At All Cost seems to have decided to cram as many sounRAB as possible into one song. And when the music is angry punk/metal, it doesn't work.

Foo Fighters - In Your Honor
I wish that Best of You was released as a single and that was all. Never again will I buy a cd based off of a solitary song. I got suckered. Big time. It felt as if they wrote the same song over and over again.

Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
A bad attempt at corabining Fall Out Boy and Techno. I mean, Fall Out Boy is terrible to begin with, don't add a volatile genre on top of that! I disliked the entire album. My brother bought this one. Thank God.

Well, that was short and sweet!!! On top of that, you include more misspelled worRAB and a bad use of punctuation.:nono: Well, I guess I just have to "smile" when you type more bulls hit that only insults yourself further(?)!!!Have a nice day, prick!!!:D

Shut up, Ian is way more intelligent then you, and i realize theres this whole be-kind-noob thing going on but im gonna say this to you anyway.

You are a fucking durabass.
