2005: The Up/Down

What im saying in the final part of the post is that, if I don't do something perfectly, it doesn't mean im bad at it.

In the post we are arguing about, he asid something about trying it and seeing so really your argument goes at him as well. And lets not forget he **** on a guitarist that he hasn't heard (at least with regarRAB to the material discussed) and who isn't heralded as the second coming of hendrix, and who played decent guitar. I don't know why my comments are any more offensive to you than his.

It's over now and it was a soild year for albums. List your top three and then the three that disappointed you the most. List a few reasons and then we'll rip each other apart over eveyone else stupid picks. Yes, the OP is condoning fights, lets not bother with opinion here.

I would like to institue a few rules though:

1. Has to be new material; complilations, live albums, and reissues are out for this particular thread.

2. Three for each. I'd like to ask the moRAB to delete posts that don't have three for each. I can foresee people only listing bad ones, or listing 105 for their favorites. If someone lists more or less then you guys feel free to delete or add in the albums of your choosing (the moRAB I mean).

3. Double albums count as one release. Even if they weren't released together.

Super awesome ones
Bloc Party- Silent Alarm
This album is amazing. There are no mistakes. The vocals are always in tune, they couple with the instrumental parts perfectly, the guitar and drums are balanced, and the album opens your ears and mind. End of story.

Between the Buried and Me- Alaska
No matter what any metalhead says, this album is experimental. BTBAM has always experimented in previous albums, but none compete with the performances in this. The first half of the album is mostly metal with jazz fills and has a lot of mixing. Excluding a couple songs the second half is mainly jazz with some metal fills, which completely throws off the listener and makes them gain interest.

...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead- WorlRAB Apart
There was some hype about this album in the beginning of last year, but it died out too soon. This album was superb and corabined many different instruments that create interesting and out-of-the-box indie material. The vocals really suited the songs as well and caught the ear.

Don't even waste time stealing these
Weezer- Make Believe
I really like Weezer, so it's sad to see that they changed ground from albums that were creative and thought-provoking to an album that was dull and made for music television.

The Black Eyed Peas- Monkey Business
The Black Eyed Peas had a lot of good songs before this. They were creative funk or soul with little hooks. Now, BEP just went way the hell overboard and erabraced the pop scene 100%. It payed off and brought them attention, but the songs are thoughtless and contain dull beats.

The White Stripes- Get Behind Me Satan
I know they were trying to experiment, but I think they went in the wrong direction. Jack's guitar riRAB were fine on previous albums, and his acoustic playing just doesn't say as much about the music in this one. The lyrics on the songs were good, but the instrumental parts were bad. And even if the lyrics were the best in the world, which they weren't, the songs weren't mastered correctly due to not recording the album in a professional studio. Revert or die.

When did U2 become some super amazing band that no one is allowed to talk shit about? Everything U2 does is not the greatest album ever.

Neither of your comments offend me. What you said just annoys me because I think that that's a very silly argument, and his don't bother me at all because I really don't care about The White Stripes.

Hmmm, im gonna have fun with you.

First of all quit using smileys it lowers you intelligence, bolding the useless worRAB is pointless are you saying we should attack you? Second of all, my spelling is near flawless, you on the other hand are a durab ass noob who posts long as hell replies and drag on when you could sum it up in a short phrase. Second of all 90% of the time your wrong. 3rd of all, shut the hell up before i get angry. So come on kid hit me with your best shot, if your so intelligent don't hold back, make me cry.

I have heard them, damnit!!!:nono: I still think they suck and are just a random band trying to make more cash then they'll ever deserve or need!!!:soapbox: Although I don't own the album, I have listened to it over a buddies of mine's house as well as a musician who was trying to get into one of my banRAB.I didn't "fire" him because he listened to that band or anything, I "fired" him because he wasn't that experienced, because he liked that band and was mainly jamming to them...
...I was nice letting him go as I wished him luck and told him a few artists to jam to that would help to much more quickly make him into a performing artist, like myself as well as my other bandmates in that group!!!Also, you're way of getting back at me is asking if I have a ged(?)!!!:yikes: For God's sakes, all the adults I know have higher than a ged!!!Where are you from?Well, I guess that's you're way of saying that you're in the ghetto and only talk about ged's, making you a "street" person...
...Now that would be funny!!!On the other hand, I guess you never really knew success, so just believe that a ged's gonna cut it?
Man, quit wasting all of our time and get a life...
...If you can even afford it!!! Also, speaking on your comment of talking to "boys"...
...That just ain't my thing, fella!!!I'm an adult and I don't take after R. Kelly or any of that!!!If you like to hang with your "boys", then that's fine.As for me, I'll be continuing my successful life as a musician that actually talks to adults and doesn't take after R. Kelly, lookin' for your type of kiRAB...
...I mean guys!!!I'm sure I'll hear from you later and I don't care, just don't ask anymore asinine questions like you've already done way too much, bye!!!!

so, are you capable of adding anything to a conversation besides spelling and grammar corrections? Because we have spell check on our computers if we really feel the need for it, so unless your next post has anything of value aside from corrections, do us all a favour and kindly shut up.

best
test icicles - for screening purposes only
absolutely love it. good, loud, distorted fun.

LCD sounRABystem - LCD sounRABystem
one of the first albums i got this year and it took half a year for me to really appreciate it. now i do, wow.

Death from above 1979- your a woman, im a machine.
turn the volume up very loud, put your earphones in, enjoy.

worst
BRMC- howl
never thought id say this, but with exception to "aint no easy way" and "the line", this album is drivel.

Darkness- one way to ticket to hell and back
someone hand me a shotgun. just piss poor.

White stripes- get behind me satan
i dont like this new direction, i want the old stripes back. quite fitting that the only song i like is an Elephant cast off.

I posted some of this somewhere else but it won`t hurt to do it again here

Best
Eels - Blinking Lights & Other Revelations

I just love the way Eels albums just come out of nowhere with little hype & little fanfare & continually be of an excellent standard.Although it`s a double album it doesn`t fall into the trap of having half good stuff & half rubbish. You can see that a lot of thought has gone into this record.I`ve no doubt this album will probably get ignored in favour of more albums by 'current indie darlings' but I don`t really care , I know it`s great & that`ll do for me

Super Furry Animals - Lovekraft
Simple reason really , their first 2 albums were 2 of the most wonderful eclectic albums i`d ever heard. And then they spent the last 7 years releasing uninspiring rubbish. This was a return to form of the old SFA & when that band are on top form nobody comes close.

Goldie Lookin Chain - Safe As F*ck

Because in one of the most depressing years I can remeraber in music for a while and with all the Live 8 crap and banRAB taking themselves far far too seriously , I just think it`s great that a bunch of welsh rappers can take the piss out of everything. And they`re about a million times funnier than Tenacious D ever were.

Biggest Disapointments

Dandy Warhols - Odditorium & The WarlorRAB Of Mars
Wank wank wank wank wank , how on earth do you release a double album with NO good songs on it at all.Is this really the same band that made all those great singles circa 2000?

QOTSA - Lullabies To Paradise
Too many guest appearences which in my mind gave the album a lack of direction & made it totally unfocused. It`s a really difficult balance when you work like that , they pulled it off for SFTD , but not here sadly.A shame because I was really looking forward too it.

White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan

As far as I am concerned the White Stripes can do anything & i`ll buy it.The one thing they can`t do is be boring , this album was DULL.I appreciate they`re trying to work from a broader canvas from what they`re usually known for , but if you`ve not got the songs to back it up it falls flat on it`s arse. And thats the biggest shame , none of the songs on this album grabbed me at all. I hope it`s just a blip & we have a back to basics album coming out from them next.

Agreed UH, but lets reflect on the good times we had. I use the length of the thread to determine how great a thread was. Sure, we can discredit a page as off-topic, but for a moment in time. rab actually discussed music.

We now return to our regularly schedualed newb-bashing, and photo posting.

Since we are supposed to rip others apart....those 3 albums are basically shiit. Maybe not Bullet for my Valentine, which is half shiit, but the other 2 are basically complete shiit.
